After going to support, I got instructions on clearing and re-building the effects libraries which I did and it still didn't resolve the issue. Videos within the ball are upside down and cropped, with artifacts of video frames poking through the start and end frames. I also had a previous support issue where the Video Ball effect that worked great on my Studio 15 version is completely whacked out on the 23 version. I was patient but now that I am 99% complete on the video, I now find that the export drops my audio track near the end of the video. The program worked fine for a while but as the project got longer, it was painful to always manually enter data to get effects right plus hourly crashes. I had Studio 15 and then purchased 23 Ultimate. Pinnacle Studio 23 Ultimate worse than previous versions This causes many mistakes to be made that needs to be corrected.

Editing performance is slow I have a fairly powerful computer, but once my project gets to a certain size, there is a constant lag with even the most basic operations. Most of your time editing videos is used trimming and moving clips around, but this is very difficult to do efficiently in Pinnacle.

The playback cursor often jumps around in unexpected ways and moving clips around constantly throws little unpleasant surprises at you. It crashes often and basic editing, like trimming clips and moving clips around is frustratingly buggy. Despite all the features I have three major frustrations with Pinnacle: 1. The priority is on quantity, not quality and the UI choices are often odd.

There are certainly many features in Pinnacle, but most of them feel like they are made for checking boxes in the marketing material. This is unfortunately not the Pinnacle experience. This is how a good creative tool should be. All effort goes into creativity and zero into dealing with bad software. My audio workstation software just works. I have used music editing software for decades and consider myself a poweruser in these type of timeline editing programs. It is possible to produce some ok videos, but it is an unusual painful process. I have owned Pinnacle Studio 23 Ultimate for a couple of years now and I say can't recommend it.
